SOUTH Program 001
FULL-Day Tour: Nature and Historical tour – SOUTH MADANG

·         07:45 – 08:15am: Meet & Greet @Your Pick-up Point/Main Wharf

·          Visit Madang’s Main Market
Get to see some of PNG’s fresh fruits and vegetables at Madang’s main market. There are local arts & crafts (such as bilums, baskets and carvings) also sold in this market. Chances of buying your own souvenir for Madang.

·         South coast: Nettai Butterfly Garden (Get to witness a local butterfly farm. Chances of taking shots of different species of butterflies and tropical plants. Nettai is a Japanese word, meaning ‘tropical’ which was adopted by the local farmer – Samalang Kuyau)

·         South coast: Hobe village:
Be culturally welcomed by the local villagers and kids in their traditional attire. Be marveled by the kids as they welcome you into their village with Joel Laleg as the Chief of the village.

explore the exotic orchids & botanical gardens and get to walk through a mini forest to witness a Japanese historical hide out or simply take photos of some of Papua New Guinea’s rare and exotic orchids and tropical plants found here at Hobe Village.

ü  12 NOON: Local lunch refreshment or Packed lunch with bottled water

·        1pm: Return to Madang town

·         Visit Madang’s Cultural Bureau and Museum:
Get to witness some of Madang’s historical carvings, potteries, ancestral weapons and other collections & archaeological findings and get to learn about Madang’s history and connection to the World War 2. Note: Cameras are NOT allowed into the museum

·         Sight-Seeing: Coronation Scenic Drive to Kalibobo Lighthouse, the iconic figure of Madang province. The Lighthouse was built and structured mimicking the shape of a rocket bomb. It was built in memory of the Australian Coast-watchers who guarded the coast of Madang from Japanese Invasion during the Word War 2.

·         Return Back at the Main Wharf or your designated location by 4pm - Tour /End @4pm


SOUTH Program S002

Full Day Tour: Caving, Historical & Nature Tours – SOUTH MADANG

·         (07:45 – 08:15am: Meet & Greet) Tour begins /pick up at your hotel accommodation

·         South coast: Nettai Butterfly Garden

·         South coast: Balek Sulfuric Creek with welcoming tortoise & eels

·         South coast: Harwagan Cave & Mythical pool (bring pair of clothes for a chance to swim)

·         South coast: Hobe village exotic orchids & botanical gardens with mini-forest walk to the Japanese historical hideout

ü  Lunch pack provided or local food refreshment at Hobe Village

·         16:00 Return to Madang town

·         Visit Divine Word University for the afternoon or Madang Resort Carvers hut (OPTIONAL)

Half-Day Tour: Nature and Historical tour – SOUTH MADANG

 NORTH Program N006

Full-Day Tour: Town-North Coast (Eco-tour) NORTH MADANG

·       (07:45 – 8:15am: Meet & Greet) Tour begins

·         Town: Coat Watchers Light House

·         Town: Coronation Drive Scenic view

·         Town-centre: Flying fox colony

·         Town market: Madang Visitors’ & Cultural Bureau Museum

·         North coast: Scenic drive

·         North coast: Rempi for Seaside Island and lagoon view or enjoy the pristine white sandy beaches and take photos – possible chance for snorkeling or traditional canoeing experience)

ü  Lunch pack provided

·         16:00 Return in time to view nightly flying fox migration (Visit Divine Word University to view the flying fox colony at a pikus tree, near Friendship Library – OPTIONAL)
